How to decorate your Christmas tree step by step

Tutorial on How to decorate your Christmas tree, from the moment you take it out of the box until it looks like a great work of art-

When decorating a tree, it is important to try to create three things: layers, balance and movement. When decorating my Christmas trees I always use everything in the same order a few specific steps that with practice I could handle better and I want to share these steps and other tips. I hope they will help you a lot.

Step 1.- In the first place, I armo the tree and I dishevel it or a little disturbance. It is important not to skip this step because it really makes the tree look much better after being in storage for a year. During this step you can also check all the lights to make sure they are working, and add or replace any that no longer works. After that I add the lights.

Step 2.- Next, I add a mixture of the bright and white branches to my tree. This addition adds so much balance and movement, so I always take my time to put the branches the way I want them. I love that the branches are curled at the end, which helps the eye travel up and down the tree. I also love that they give the texture of the tree and a very modern feel.

Step 3 – After being happy with the way my branches are seen in the tree, I add my next largest element: snowflakes made of wood cut with a laser. I spread the snowflakes evenly all over the tree, leaving enough space for the rest of my ornaments. I really like the look of mixing some larger ornaments with smaller ones, and in my opinion, these snowflakes really make a difference.

Step 4.- Next, I add a first layer of ribbon. Remember that it gives balance. It is okay not to add the entire tape at once. You just have to add where and when it makes sense as a layer. You can see more of my tips here. You can use a light colored ribbon like the one below, Do not make it too perfect, but choose areas from top to bottom and creates a good base coat.

Step 5 – After the first ribbon layer, I’ve added a bunch of pretty icy finches to the tree. At this point, I’m working with a good layering base from where I can add the rest of the trimmings. I used a mixture of a lot of different bright and shiny ornaments to fill any of the sparse areas (I leave some of the wooden houses for later). To create a more visual interest, I made sure to nest some of the ornaments back into the branches while others hanging on the outer branches.

Step 6 – After hanging the rest of the ornaments, I added my last layer of tape: I slightly raised the sections of the tape evenly in different areas of the tree. I love the texture I added to the tree! Finally, I added the wooden houses to the tree, creating a last layer of interest and texture. At this point, I definitely pinch things up a bit here and there, but for the most part it was over!
